By enabling customers to get 25X the capacity from a given amount of physical disk capacity, ProtecTIER has greatly changed the economics of data protection.

• Lower Acquisition Costs. Across a range of customer scenarios, the total acquisition cost of ProtecTIER is 15-30% lower than that of a comparable tape library – and 50-80% lower than that of a comparable virtual tape library system.
  
  


• Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). In a typical customer scenario, the annual costs of ProtecTIER are significantly lower than both tape-based and VTL-based solutions.
