ProtecTIER VT is a scalable and robust software solution that emulates tape libraries, enabling existing backup applications to send data to the ProtecTIER disk-based platform, rather than to tape.

By leveraging the power of HyperFactor, ProtecTIER VT lets you continue enjoying all the benefits of virtual tape, while radically reducing the capital costs and operating expenses associated with a large-scale disk-based deployment.

• Non-Disruptive Deployment. ProtecTIER VT allows the existing backup application to access drives, robotics and cartridges within ProtecTIER just as it would a physical tape library. Because it presents itself as a standard tape library, no changes to policies, practices, or procedures are required.
