Gender Diversity Progress in the UAE and the Impact of COVID-19: Challenges & Opportunities
The Diligent Institute and Hawkamah, Institute for Corporate Governance in the Middle East, launched an extensive report on “Gender Diversity in the GCC: Developments, Approaches and Best Practices” in 2020. The report urged companies to push through and implement more gender diversity policies and to see gender diversity not as something which is only applicable to senior positions or at the board level itself but rather as a cycle, which starts with promoting more women to manager levels, which then becomes the pool of women for leadership positions.
