Shiona has been an integral part of the Fountain-Fort Carson School District since 2011, supporting a district of approximately 9,000 students. With over 15 years of administrative experience, she plays a vital role in streamlining processes across the district and ensuring that board materials are accurate, timely, and easy to navigate.
As a Modern Governance 100 award recipient, Shiona exemplifies what it means to lead with excellence in governance. Her thoughtful feedback continues to help us innovate and improve the Diligent Community platform. In fact, her early experience transitioning from BoardDocs to Diligent Community has provided valuable insights that benefit both our team and fellow users navigating similar changes.

April's Community Champion

Michelle, the dedicated Clerk to the Board of Trustees at GoTriangle, has a rich history of service, with over 22 years in her current role and in her experience as a Finance Officer and Town Clerk in North Carolina.
When asked about what good governance means to her, Michelle said, "Good governance is about serving others. It's about making life better for others and providing a level playing field for all to thrive and succeed."

March's Community Champion
Name: Kim Beaty
Title: Executive Administrator
Organization: Florida School Boards Association

We’re thrilled to honor Kim Beaty as our March Community Champion!
Joining the Florida School Boards Association (FSBA) in 2024 as the Executive Administrator, Kim Beaty has quickly made an impact by leading FSBA’s migration from BoardDocs to Diligent Community. This initiative ensured a seamless experience for her association and set the foundation for stronger governance practices.
Kim brings a unique perspective to her role, fueled by her passion for open, transparent communication to better serve FSBA’s membership and the broader education community. As Kim explains: “Good governance is displayed when all available information, options, and proposals are provided for all parties involved in order to make the most informed decision possible. This is how you best serve your community. Diligent Community allows us at FSBA to keep our members involved and informed in our governance of the association.”
